Angela Geraghty, Managing Director of Proactive Design & Marketing, lists Smyths Toys, Thermo King, TG4, GMIT and Buitoni Ireland among her client list. Angela is a strategic marketing professional and along with Co-Director and company Founder Ray O'Connor has built this Galway Agency into one of the most reputable in the country. In our business the single most important skill is to maintain a positive attitude and ensure that it permeates the whole team. Designers and copy writers have to have a working environment that is conducive to creativity and our studio in Proactive is always buzzing. That's not to say that we don't have the same business challenges that most other companies are facing at the moment - we just find new ways of doing business. For example, some of our loyal customers are going through a very tough time at the moment but we are sticking with them and working on a percentage of the sales generated from our campaigns rather than a fee. You have to be confident in your own team and abilities to work like this. We are also looking internationally for new opportunities and have recently won a contract for a large German Medical Devices company.
We have also changed our focus to business areas where there are opportunities for growth. Sports and activity event management is a key growth area for us and one of our core strengths. Proactive are the event managers behind the Connemara Marathon and organised a Triathlon for Cope Galway which will took place during the Volvo Ocean Race. Proactive designed the Let's do It Galway branding for the Volvo Ocean Race and we recently won a three year contract to Promote the Galway Races. We have worked with the Galway Oyster Festival for several years - it's great to see these high profile events being managed and Marketed by West of Ireland Agencies.
